10/04/13 w/ José Manuel

José Manuel‘s ‘Guitar Love’ EP of last year became an instant staple in my sets at Stiff Drink. Part mediterranean balearic disco, part quasi-spaghetti western, part undulating cosmic. The kind of disc you could keep by your side, waiting for multiple entry points. Released on Tusk Wax with a hand stamped centre, generic sleeve and no label copy, much mystery surrounded its source. Here we swing the spotlight on the Italian DJ/producer who started playing clubs at the tender age of 16, runs his own label Black Pepper Recordings and has also contributed tracks to Is It Balearic, Kill The DJ and Eskimo. Hot mix!
